Ons Jabeur was born in Ksar Hellal on August 28, 1994. In her career she was the first Arab tennis player to win a title on the WTA Tour and to play in the quarterfinals of a Grand Slam tournament at the 2020 Australian Open, a record subsequently improved and also extended to the African continent with the historic finals held at Wimbledon and at the US Open in 2022.

2022 is the best year for her, at least till now, with two Grand Slam finals, her first WTA 1000 title and second position in the WTA ranking. Ons wins the title at the Mutua Madrid Open, beating Jessica Pegula in the final in three sets. In Berlin she won her 3rd career title, in the final against Belinda Bencic. She played and lost the Wimbledon final against Elena Rybakina and the US Open final against Iga Swiatek. She also reached and lost the finals in Charleston and Rome.
The Tunisian starts 2023 in Adelaide where, after the bye, she imposes herself on Cirstea (7-6 (3) 6-1) and on Kostjuk (7-6 (5) 7-5). In the semifinals, she gets caught by qualifier Nosková in three sets. She takes part in the Australian Open: after a difficult success against Zidansek, she is eliminated in the second round by Vondrousova (1-6 5-7 1-6). Jabeur is married to Karim Kamoun, a Russian-Tunisian former fencer who has also been her strength trainer since mid-2017.
