The best ATP and WTA tournaments of 2023: players choose Indian Wells

What were the best ATP and WTA tournaments of 2023? The choice was made by men and women's tennis players, who were asked to vote for the best events, in their respective categories, of the season just ended. Other ATP Awards were thus assigned to the best ATP Master 1000, 500 and 250.

The awards were respectively assigned to the Indian Wells, Queen's and Bastad tournaments. Played on three different surfaces: hard, grass and clay-courts. California (USA), UK and Sweden are the countries that host these tournaments.

The WTA Awards always went to Indian Wells for the WTA 1000 category, Charleston for the WTA 500 and Cluj-Napoca for the 250. The players focused above all on the hospitality and organization of the event, as well as another series of parameters.

Indian Wells and the Queen's events shares their satisfaction

The BNP Paribas Open was voted top 1000 event for both the ATP and WTA. It received a lot of praise from both men and women's athletes. Tommy Haas, CEO of the Californian tournament, explained to the ATP: "We are honored to see players once again vote Indian Wells as their favorite stop of the year for the 1000 level.

This award reflects the dedicated support of all our wonderful tournament staff, volunteers, fans and many others who bring the BNP Paribas Open to life every year and contribute to the lasting success of our one-of-a-kind event." Chris Pollard, director of digital, technology and events at Queen's, said he was equally delighted with the recognition: "We are absolutely delighted to have been voted for by the players again this year.

The LTA takes great pride in continually improving the player experience. tennis players taking part in the tournament and this award is recognition of the hard work of the LTA events team and the collaborative way in which they work with the Queen's club, the ATP and a number of other sponsors and suppliers to deliver a world-class event." The 2023 edition of Indian Wells saw the victories of Carlos Alcaraz and Elena Rybakina, at the end of two rather exciting weeks.
