The Vanderbilt University men's tennis team will travel to Columbus, Ohio to compete against No. 1 Ohio State University in the ITA Kickoff Weekend, which will be played today, Saturday, January 27. Based on today's results, the Commodores will face either Oregon or Boise State on Sunday.

Vandy enters the weekend with a perfect record, having won doubleheaders last week on Wednesday and Sunday against East Tennessee State, Tennessee State, Tennessee Tech and Alabama A&M. The Buckeyes (2-0) head into the ITA Kickoff after two wins Sunday against Eastern Illinois and Xavier.

Ohio State finished the 2022-23 season with a 34-3 record, making it all the way to the final round of the NCAA Championship before falling to Virginia. Oregon and Boise State are also carrying perfect records into the weekend, 3-0 and 2-0, respectively.

Next the Commodores will play a doubleheader at home against Belmont and Butler on Sunday, February 4.

Last Sunday's results

The Vanderbilt men's tennis team continued its streak of success this past Sunday, earning victories over Tennessee Tech and Alabama A&M.

Joubert Klopper and Danil Panarin led the Dores with a 6-2 win on Court 2, and No.

59 pair Jeremie Casabon and Nathan Cox weren't far behind, taking the point with another 6-2 win to bring to single player play. Vanderbilt continued to dominate, with Klopper, Panarin and Casabon winning in straight sets.

Juan Lopez won the first set, losing the second and forcing a third where he picked up Dores' fifth point against Tennessee Tech. Cox fought back from a 6-3 defeat in the first set to win the second and third, embodying what Fight, Dores is all about.

Alexandre Hillhouse closed out the match, forcing a third set and securing a 7-0 victory over the Golden Eagles. The second game of the day began with Vandy looking for an undefeated season. Lopez and Hugo Coquelin got the first win of the match with a 6-1 victory.

Klopper/Panarin were unstoppable, winning the doubles point for the Dores and giving them the lead heading into the singles. Klopper led by example in singles, securing a clear 6-0, 6-0 win over the Bulldogs' Vence N'Tcha.

Cox, Lopez, Casabon and Panarin also won in straight sets, giving the Commodores a 6-0 lead. Robb-Wilcox finished the match, winning in straight sets and sealing the win for Vandy.
