No.1 Ohio State University gets a spot at the ITA Indoor Team National Championship

The No.1 Ohio State University men's tennis defeated Boise State for 4-0, winning the ITA Kickoff Weekend in Columbus, qualifying for the ITA Indoor Team National Championship, scheduled for next February in New York

Ohio State improves to 6-0 on the season, winning all six games. This is the 15th time the Buckeyes have reached the final stage. They won the national title in 2014 and 2019. The Buckeyes will remain at home next weekend. They will host No. 3 Virginia, Friday night at 6 p.m. and No. 2 South Carolina, at noon Sunday.

Buckeyes quickly passed the doubles point. After Justin Boulais and Andrew Lutschaunig's 6-1 win on the first court, the other two Buckeye teams served 5-4 and both led 40-0. Cash and Nakashima concluded their point just before Kingsley's serve.

Buckeyes won five of the first sets and notched victories on courts two, five and six to clinch the match. Alexander Bernard was the first to do so, winning 6-2, 6-0 over Idriss Haddouch. Preston Stearns followed with a 6-1, 6-2 victory and then Justin Boulais added the final point with a 6-2, 6-1 victory.
