Mikaela Shiffrin

Mikaela Shiffrin is the most successful athlete in the history of the Alpine Ski World Cup, and is considered by many to be the greatest female skier of all time.

Born on March 13, 1995, she has won two Olympic titles, the special slalom in Soci 2014 and giant slalom in Pyeongchang 2018, and seven titles at the world championships: slalom in Schladming 2013, in Vail/Beaver Creek 2015 and in Sankt Moritz 2017, super-giant and special slalom in Are 2019, combined in Cortina d'Ampezzo 2021 and giant slalom in Courchevel/Méribel 2023.

She has won five overall World Cups, one super-G World Cup, two giant slalom World Cups and seven special slalom World Cups.

In the 2022-2023 season, with the victory obtained in the giant slalom held in Kranjska Gora on 8 January, she equaled Lindsey Vonn's record, becoming the most victorious athlete in the history of the women's World Cup, with 82 successes. Primacy later further increased by Shiffrin herself.

At the following World Championships in Courchevel / Méribel 2023 she won the gold medal in the giant slalom, the silver medal in the super-G and the special slalom and did not complete the combined. In the same season she also won her fifth overall World Cup.

Mikaela Shiffrin is originally from Eagle-Vail and sister of Taylor, who is also an alpine skier. Together with Roger Federer, she was the protagonist of the commercial of the well-known pasta brand Barilla.
