World no. 5 Sara Errani off to a winnning start in Roland Garros

Tennis: Italy's Sara Errani got off to a flying start at the 2013 French Open Championship as she earned a straight sets victory over Arantxa Rus of Netherlands. The last year's runner-up wasted no time as she defeated her opponent 6-1, 6-2.

The world no. 5 started very strongly and broke her opponent in the very first game. Errani broke all four of her opponent's service games in the first set and got broken once as she took the first set 6-1 in 27 minutes.2 22-year-old Rus, who is ranked 100 in the world, was able to hold only one serve in the whole match which came in the second set.

She got broke 7 times in 8 service games. Errani wasted no break points in the second set as she converted all three break points that she got and took the set 6-2 to proceed into the next round. Although she did not serve a single ace in the whole match but she was able to hit 14 winners.

Errani is also the Doubles Champion of last year's championship as she had won the crown with partner Roberta Vinci. She will face the winner of Yulia Putintseva of Kazakhstan and Ayumi Morita of Japan in the second round.
