Tennis - Rising German Annika Beck is through to the quarter finals of the WTA NÜRNBERGER Gastein Ladies Open after a 26 64 64 win over Mandy Minella. The 19-year-old German was down 2-4 in the second set as well before she bounced back to win.
Speaking after her win, Beck commented, "It was a tough one. I was down a set and a break and I had to take a medical timeout because my nose was bleeding. I don't know how that happened, but it could be because of the altitude.
I hope it doesn't come back tomorrow. Mandy played a great match. She had good tactics. I made too many easy mistakes, but I tried to find my rhythm and eventually I did. I'm pretty happy I came out on top." In other second round matches on Thursday.
