Prague Open: Marie Bouzkova sets exciting last-8 match against Oksana Selekhmetova

Eighth seed Marie Bouzkova moved into the quarter-finals of the Prague Open on Wednesday. The 64th-ranked Czech won a derby against qualifier Dominika Salkova, 6-1, 6-2 in 71 minutes.

Bouzkova won 61% of her first-serve points and 66% of her second-serve points.

She also won 65% of points on return on Salkova's second serve. Bouzkova also saved six of the seven break points she faced while converting six of the 10 break points she had on Salkova's serve. For the match, she won 66 points to Salkova's 40.

In the quarters, Bouzkova will play Oksana Selekhmetova.

The youngster continued her good form in the Czech capital, posting a 6-4, 1-6, 6-3 win over Chloe Paquet.

The match saw a combined total of 14 service breaks – seven each on Selekhmetova and Paquet's serve – and had 15 break points, nine on Paquet's serve and six on Selekhmetova's serve.

Selekhmetova finished with 79 points for the match, two fewer than Paquet's 81.

Magda Linette won her second-round match against Viktoriya Tomova 6-3, 6-3 in an hour and 17 minutes. The Pole won a high margin of points both on her first and second serves as compared to her opponent.

She won 71% of her first-serve points and 76% of her second-serve points to the Bulgarian's 59% and 50% respectively. She also didn’t face a single break point and converted three breaks on the latter's serve.

For a place in the Prague Open semi-finals, Linette will have to get through against Qiang Wang.

Wang beat Dalila Jakupovic 6-3, 6-1 in the round-of-16 in 64 minutes. The Chinese player broke Jakupovic six times while ceding her serve twice in the match. She finished the match with 57 points, 24 more than the Slovenian's 33.
