Donna Vekic met with Jo-Wilfried Tsonga on a practice court as the Croatian tennis star seemingly even played a practice match against the French tennis legend. Over the weekend, Vekic seemingly paid a visit to Tsonga's academy.
The result of the match was 6-2 7-5 in the visitor's favor.
After one Twitter user suggested that Vekic beat Tsonga in straight sets, the Croatian hilariously responded: "Well since I’m the ‘visitor’ I think it’s the other way around."🤩🤩🤩🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 @tsonga7 pic.twitter.com/EplPlu4zpL — Donna Vekic (@DonnaVekic) February 5, 2023

In the Linz first-round, fifth-seeded Vekic will be taking on Tamara Korpatsch.
Vekic has lost just one match so far in 2023
After winning all of her three United Cup matches, Vekic also won two exhibition matches at the Kooyong Classic.
Then, Vekic made the Australian Open quarterfinal before suffering a 6-3 6-2 loss to eventual champion Aryna Sabalenka. After losing to Sabalenka, Vekic jokingly revealed she would turn to margaritas to cope with the defeat.
"Now what? I will drink one good margarita definitely. Probably more than one," Vekic said. Vekic was broken twice in the first set, while she suffered three breaks of serve in the second set. "My serve is one of my biggest weapons, so if that's not working, it's very tough out there, especially against her, who is not giving you any easy points, easy shots.
I think that's why maybe also I felt a little bit more pressure, because I knew if I didn't have a great serve, that she's going to crush it. That could be one of the reasons, as well. I mean, with her, you cannot really count on building the point, staying in the rallies, working your way up.
If you don't have good first shot, you're in trouble," Vekic said after losing to Sabalenka. It remains to be seen how well can Vekic do this week in Linz.
