Sinner took charge with his first serve from the third set, which made the difference. They hit over 100 unforced errors combined, although Jannik tamed his strokes nicely after an initial deficit. The young gun won 29 points more than his rival and defended seven out of 12 break points.
He broke Fucsovics ten times from 14 opportunities and rattled off 12 straight games from 2-0 down in the fourth set to emerge at the top in style and hit the last 16.

They traded breaks at the start of the encounter, and Marton grabbed another return game at 2-2 after a mighty defense and Jannik's loose forehand.
The Hungarian kept everything under control behind the initial shot in games six, eight and ten and claimed the set with a service winner at 5-4 after 52 minutes. Marton built a 3-1 lead in the second set before Jannik pulled it back in game six to lock the result at 3-3.
The Italian lost his focus again in the ninth game and experienced a break at love when his forehand landed long. Marton held at 15 in game ten after the rival's volley error at the net to wrap up the set 6-4 and move closer to the finish line.
Sinner started all over in the third set, imposing his strokes and delivering back-to-back breaks for 5-0 in no time. The Italian denied four set points at 5-1 and seized his third set point to reduce the overall deficit after two hours and two minutes.
Marton broke early in the fourth set, but it was everything we would see from him in the rest of the clash! Jannik grabbed three straight breaks and served well to take the set 6-2 following Fucsovics' terrible volley in game eight.
The Hungarian faded from the court in the decider, taking only nine points and failing to match the Italian's pace. Sinner claimed all six games for his third bagel at Majors and the second in Melbourne this year. Jannik held at 15 at 5-0 to emerge at the top and find himself in the second week.
