Japanese tennis star Taro Daniel is optimistic that everything will go just well at the inaugural Davis Cup Finals. The Davis Cup has made some big changes in the competition starting from this year onward as a new format is set to debut in Madrid next week.
18 nations will take place in the inaugural Davis Cup Finals and those 18 participants will be divided in six groups -- each consisting of three teams. Japan hasn't been handed an easy group as they will be sharing Group A with Serbia and France.
The biggest problem for the Japanese team is that they will be without its top star Kei Nishikori, who prematurely ended his season because of an injury. "Having all the countries here in one venue – I have very good expectations for this competition.
The atmosphere will be vibrant with a lot of fans from all over the world. I'm very excited with this upcoming week," Daniel told the Davis Cup Finals. It remains to be seen can Japan pull off a couple of shock wins and make it past the Round Robin stage in Madrid.
