Gaston claimed a comeback win
Gaston broke Djere in the opening game of the match but the Serb broke back the Frenchman in the second game.
Gaston broke Djere again in the third game and this time served out the following game to take a 3-1 lead. After falling 3-1 down in the first set, Djere lifted his game as he claimed back-to-back breaks and won five games in a row to overturn the deficit and win the opener.
The first break points of the second set were seen in the eighth game, when Gaston converted his fourth break point to take a 5-3 lead. In the following game, Gaston ralized his second set point to force a decider. After winning the second set, Gaston claimed the first break of the third set in the fifth game to take a 3-2 lead.
Gaston had a chance to go up by a double break but Djere saved two break points in the seventh game. However, Gaston kept his focus as he claimed his second break of the set in the ninth game to complete a comeback win. Ruud, Gaston's opponent in the Gstaad final, won Bastad title last week. It remains to be seen if Gaston can prevent Ruud from winning back-to-back ATP titles.
