World No. 155 Hugo Gaston couldn't hide his happiness after reaching his maiden ATP semifinal in Gstaad. Gaston, who is having his debut campaign in Gstaad, stunned No. 4 seed Cristian Garin 6-4 1-6 7-6 (11) in the Gstaad quarterfinal.

Gaston won a thriller
Gaston made a positive start to the match, having broke Garin in the opening game.
Gaston had a chance to go up by two breaks but Garin saved a break point in the third game. Gaston got broken back in the sixth game but broke Garin again in the seventh game to take a 4-3 lead. Gaston then routinely served out for the opener in the 10th game.
The two players were tied at one game apiece after the opening two games of the second set, before Garin claimed back-to-back breaks to win five games in a row and force a decider. After winning the second set, Garin claimed the first break of the third set in the third game.
Gaston saved three break points in the seventh game, before breaking back Garin in the eighth game to level the set at four games apiece. Gaston again dropped his serve in the ninth game but broke back Garin in the 10th game to level the set at five games apiece.
As no more breaks were seen -- the set went into a tie-break -- where Gaston saved four match points before realizing his third match point to earn the biggest win of his career. Gaston plays next against Laslo Djere, who beat Arthur Rinderknech to make the Gstaad semifinal.
