Holger Rune on the mad-match with Fokina: "It was crazy!

Holger Rune got access to the round of 16 at Wimbledon in a really crazy way. Down 5-8 in the tie-break match against Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, the young Dane was able to completely turn around the challenge and win. In the press conference he said: "It was a crazy match.

I think I started very well, especially at the end of the first set. He was returning every serve near the baseline. After that it was difficult to finish down 1-2, but I told myself there is no Wimbledon every week so I gave it my all until the end.

It was crazy and very unexpected that's for sure. In a way it's nice, because he served very well throughout the game but I also put pressure on him. Luckily I was right in the important moments and managed to win. Each player has a different style of him.

It is hard to say. I think I would trust my serve and go strong, like I did with match points. It depends on the person. Of course it was great. I think he didn't even bounce the ball, so I was aware that something different could have happened.

I saw him and I ran and tried to hit where he wasn't."

The young Dane then added: "Footwork has been a great adaptation for me, especially understanding how to move and keep balance on grass.

I feel strong in the corners, that's the main thing to stay balanced when you're away from the position. Last year I didn't do very well, I almost always crashed. This year has been much better. I'm playing my tennis, like on hard and clay, looking for my shots, not thinking too much about the surface.

I learned my lesson in Australia against Andrey Rublev. It was a heartbreaking defeat. It was tough, but it's the games where you learn the most. I learned to stay calm and play better in this situation. Now I tell myself to be brave, because if I put pressure on myself and lose, it hurts like hell. If I lose, I want to lose the right way."
