Cameron Norrie has warned "just another player" Novak Djokovic that he plans to "take it to him" when they meet in the Davis Cup. On Thursday, Great Britain will be taking on Serbia in the Davis Cup Final 8 quarterfinal. Norrie, the top-ranked British tennis player, will clash against world No 1 Djokovic.

Serbia having Djokovic available is a huge advantage to their side but Norrie is determined to spoil Serbia's plans. "I'm going to go and be myself, give it everything and take it to him. It's a huge privilege to play against him, especially in Davis Cup.

I have played him in a few big matches already. I can't wait. We're excited to get out there and I think at the end of the day, he's just another player and I'm going to go run for everything and give it everything," Norrie said, via Sky Sports.

What's Norrie's record against Djokovic?

When Norrie, 28, and 36-year-old Djokovic meet in the Davis Cup, it will be their fourth meeting. Going into the match, Djokovic owns a perfect 3-0 head-to-head against Norrie. In their first three matches, Norrie managed to win only one set.

In 2021, Djokovic beat Norrie in straight sets at the ATP Finals. Last year, Norrie won the opening set against Djokovic in their Wimbledon semifinal before the Serb stormed back to win in four sets. Earlier this year in Rome, Djokovic earned his third win over Norrie after beating the Briton in straight sets.

However, Norrie remains confident that he can clinch his first win against Djokovic in the Davis Cup. "Davis Cup, there is a lot of hype, a lot of fans. It's a different kind of pressure. I think it's going to work in our favor and we love it. It's been a long ride this year and we've got a great team. We're all ready to compete," Norrie said.
