In an interview granted to the Clank Media website, Francisco Cerundolo focused on the ability of the Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic to always stay up to date on the performances of other tennis players, even those less known in the eyes of the fans.

Cerundolo also underlined that Nole is not an arrogant tennis player. The Argentine did not hide the name of his tennis idol and, on several occasions, praised Novak Djokovic. "He's not arrogant at all. When I meet him, he always says hello.

I've never sat down and talked to him, but I'd like to. He's not arrogant and he doesn't put you on the spot or anything like that. He knows who you are and he knows all the results you have achieved," said the Argentine. Cerundolo had already shown that he had a deep respect for Djokovic last year, when he made these statements on the 3iguales podcast.

"I don't consider Djokovic a bad person. He always says what he thinks and is the tennis player who spends the most on players who win and earn less, for those who participate in the Challenger and Futures tournaments."

Francisco Cerundolo's season

Cerundolo ended the season in 21st position in the world ranking.

The Argentine confirmed that he is one of the most solid players on the circuit and, despite his propensity to play better on clay, he managed to win his second career title on grass in 2023 by winning the ATP 250 tournament in Eastbourne, beating three sets in the final Tommy Paul.

Among the most prestigious results achieved in 2023, Cerundolo can boast two quarter-finals at the 1000 level: the first at the Miami Open and the second at the Internazionali BNL d'Italia, where he also defeated Jannik Sinner in the round of 16.

Coming back to talk about Djokovic, the Serbian champion will have to defend the 2000 points of the Australian Open won last season. He will try to conquer also his 25th Major and his 11th Australian Open title.
