Before the match against Tiafoe, Musetti told during the post match interview won against Berrere: "Today I played great tennis and showed that I can play very well even on grass. I managed to surprise myself, because I served really well, especially in the important moments.
I am very, very happy because Barrere is a very good player. I knew he would be a difficult opponent to beat, but I expressed a high level of play. He always plays very flat shots, which are not easy to handle. I also tried to use the slice a lot to vary my shots.
He made a mistake on the last break point and I was good at taking advantage of it. I managed to take advantage of his mistakes; I think that was the key to the game."
