Taylor Fritz is blaming constant ball changes around the Tour for the wrist issue he has been experiencing for the past few months. Throughout the year, players have complained about the new balls used on the ATP Tour. The latest example of that came a couple of days ago, when Zizou Bergs wrote on his Instagram Story: "I think it's time to look carefully at the fact that many players are getting wrist injuries which could, possibly, be prevented by not changing every week of balls...." Stan Wawrinka shared Bergs' Instagram Story and wrote: "Yep." Reacting to those remarks, Fritz wrote on X: "Have been dealing with wrist issues since beginning of US Open series cause of ball changes.

We went 3 different balls in 3 weeks."

Fritz agrees with Daniil Medvedev

At the Australian Open, Medvedev experienced wrist pain and he was surprised because he didn't have any troubles with his wrist.

The following month - after taking some to analyze and after talking to some other players - Medvedev pointed the finger at the new balls on the ATP Tour. “I think the toughest for me was to get used to the balls. I want to talk a little bit more about it because in Australia, I felt like these balls were not good for hard courts, and in the match with [Sebastian] Korda, before the match, I had a very big pain in my wrist, but I thought, ‘okay, that's my problem, so I'm not going to talk much about it.'

Then in Rotterdam, when doubles players came to me and started talking about balls and started talking that everyone has problems with their elbow, wrist, from doubles players, they think it's because of the balls. I'm like, ‘wow, so I'm not the only one,'" Medvedev said in February.

Stefanos Tsitsipas also complained about the balls earlier this year, claiming it caused his shoulder injury at the start of the year.
