In a Super Bowl ad, Serena Williams made some strong statements on how women are perceived over the world nowadays. The former world No. 1 believes that some huge steps forward have been made. "We're living in a world and society where people are starting to see differently and starting to understand that we are just as strong and just as smart and just as savvy and just as businesslike as any other male in this world", said Serena.
"Every single one of us holds the power to write our own stories. I look at my daughter and know it is my duty to pave a powerful path for her, and as Bumble's global adviser, I can encourage her and women everywhere to think like a champion, define their lives and ultimately, embrace the power we have within." Serena also said people can get inspired by leading role models: "I think every athlete, every human, and definitely every African-American should be completely grateful and honoured how Colin and Eric are doing so much more for the greater good.
They really use their platform in ways that [are] really unfathomable. I feel like they obviously have great respect from a lot of their peers, especially other athletes, people that really are looking for social change."
