Hideki Matsuyama pledges allegiance to Pga

He pledges allegiance to the PGA Tour, but asks that the Arab Super League events be recognized by the Official World Golf Ranking. Hideki Matsuyama on the eve of the ZoZo Championship, a tournament of the highest American circuit, breaks the delay and to those who indicate it as the next purchase of LIV Golf, responds like this.

"I am a member of the PGA Tour and I could not be more proud of it. I am fully committed to this circuit and my future is here," explains the Japanese.

Professional since 2013, he won the Asian Amateur Championship in 2010 and 2011, five PGA Tour tournaments, eight Japan Golf Tour tournaments and two World Golf Championships tournaments. He is the highest-ranked Japanese golfer of all time in the World Golf Ranking with a second-place finish earned through his runner-up finish at the 2017 US Open of Golf.

He is the first Japanese player to win a major tournament, winning the 2021 Augusta Masters. From 2010, he studied at Tōhoku University in Sendai. He won the Asian Amateur Championship in 2010. This victory qualifies him for the 2011 Golf Masters, in which he is the first Japanese amateur to take part.

He finished 27th and first amateur and won the Silver Cup, awarded to the best amateur. He is also the only amateur to pass the cut. The following week, he finished third at the Japan Open Golf Championship on the Japan Golf Tour.

At the 2011 Summer Universiade, he won the gold medal individually and in the team. In October 2011, he retained his title at the Asian Amateur Championship4, and again qualified for the Masters. In November, he won his first professional tournament, the Mitsui Sumitomo VISA Taiheiyo Masters on the Japan Golf Tour.
