26-year-old Frenchman David Ravetto surprised everyone by winning the Dimension Data Pro-Am with 274 (68 66 71 69, -15) strokes on the Challenge Tour. The event, organized in collaboration with the Sunshine Tour, featured a pro-am format (one professional and one amateur) at the Fancourt Golf Estate in George, South Africa.

The tournament was played across three courses: the Montagu Course (par 72), the Outeniqua Course (par 72), and the The Links Course (par 73), all designed by the legendary champion Gary Player.

Ravetto edged out Englishman Sam Hursby by two strokes, who finished second with 276 (-13), and Spaniard Victor Pastor and South Africans Robin Williams and Hennie Du Plessis by four strokes, tying for third with 278 (-11).

Three more South African players were just behind: Zander Lombard and Brandon Stone tied for sixth with 279 (-10), and JC Ritchie finished eighth with 289 (-9). The two Italian players in the field missed the cut: Luca Cianchetti finished 79th with 219 (69 74 76, +2), and Pietro Bovari finished 151st with 235 (82 79 74, +18).

The rules of golf comprise a set of standard norms and procedures that govern the playing of the sport. They are jointly written and managed by the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, the governing body of golf worldwide, except for the United States and Mexico, which fall under the jurisdiction of the United States Golf Association.

A committee of experts composed of members from the R&A and USGA oversees and refines the rules every four years. The latest revision has been in effect since January 1, 2016. Changes to the rules of golf generally fall into two main categories: those that enhance understanding and those that, in certain cases, reduce penalties to ensure balance.

The rulebook, titled "Rules of Golf," is regularly published and also includes regulations governing amateur status. In Italy, Federgolf is responsible for overseeing competitions, enforcing the rules issued by the R&A, ensuring compliance by clubs, associations, and their members, and administering the resulting sports justice, safeguarding their interests abroad.

The rules of golf are relatively complex compared to other sports because they are applied outdoors, in close proximity to nature and animals. Adherence to the rules is fundamental in golf, which, relying almost always on self-control and the players' conscience, often sees distorted results, sometimes consciously, but often unconsciously or due to carelessness, due to the disregard of many players for the rules of the game.

In addition to the rules, golf adheres to a code of conduct, known as etiquette, which generally means playing the game with due respect for the golf course and other players. Etiquette is an indispensable component of this sport.
