Laura Robson believes "only good things" will come for Emma Raducanu after noticing several positive signs in the 21-year-old's game and body language during a January comeback.

After having three surgeries and being out of action for eight months, Raducanu's comeback journey started in Auckland. In her first comeback match in New Zealand, Raducanu toughed out a thriller win over Elena-Gabriela Ruse before losing to Elina Svitolina in three sets, in a match where she had a shot at beating the 2023 Wimbledon semifinalist in two sets.

Following an Auckland round-of-16 outing, Raducanu started her third Australian Open campaign with a dominant 6-3 6-2 win over against former world No. 30 Shelby Rogers.

"Emma showed real promise as she beat Shelby Rogers in the first round. I think she's playing much more aggressively again, which is fantastic," Robson, who won silver medal with Andy Murray in the 2012 London Olympics mixed doubles event, wrote for Sky Sports.

Robson: Only good things are coming for Raducanu

Sadly for Raducanu, she got hampered a bit by illness during her next match against Wang Yafan, in which she lost 6-4 4-6 6-4. Although Raducanu's Australian Open run ended in the second round, Robson didn't see it as something particularly negative, highlighting that the 21-year-old just "still needs time and matches."

"So, I feel like only good things are coming for Emma and even though she was sick on court, she competed really well. She was mentally very tough and those are the things that matter most," Robson said.

Also, Robson said that Raducanu now "looks much happier on the court" and that the 21-year-old is now more focused on enjoying her time out there instead of worrying about the result.

Meanwhile, Raducanu will be returning to action in early February at the Abu Dhabi Open. For Abu Dhabi, Raducanu received a main draw wildcard and she will be making her main draw debut at the tournament which starts on February 5th.
