Milos Raonic's Serving Clinic: A Flawless 27 out of 27 Performance

Milos Raonic is back in action for the first time since July 2021, competing in s-Hertogenbosch last week and scoring a top-40 win. Milos had been among the world's best players for years before deciding to take a break and rest his body and mind.

Raonic is one of the most efficient servers in the game's history, firing over 800 aces and winning 91% of his service games! One of Milos' finest performances behind the initial shot came at his home Canada Masters five years ago in a 6-3, 6-4 triumph over David Goffin.

Raonic took down the 10th seed in an hour and 12 minutes and achieved his 100th Masters 1000 victory in front of his fans. Milos played a flawless match behind the first serve, winning all 27 points and denying all three break chances to keep the pressure on the other side.

Goffin could not follow the rival's pace, dropping 40% of the points behind the initial shot and losing serve once in each set to end his campaign.

Milos Raonic was 27 from 27 behind the first serve versus David Goffin in 2018.

The Canadian had 31 winners and 21 unforced errors, while the Belgian stood on a negative 9-20 ratio, losing ground in the shortest and mid-range points.

Milos never faced issues behind the first serve, delivering one booming serve after another and controlling everything. The only chance for the Belgian came in the opening set's ninth game. The Canadian missed the first serve in the opening three points and offered his rival a chance.

However, Milos bounced back and fired five service winners to wrap up the game in style and seize the opener. David returned eight out of Milos' 27 first serves, with the home favorite blasting 19 service winners and boosting his game with free points.

Interestingly, Goffin returned seven of the opponent's first 11 first serves, with four providing a rally with over four shots. However, he could not impose his strokes and win any of them, spraying three errors and allowing Milos to land four winners.

It was all we saw from Goffin on the rival's first serve. Raonic landed 11 service winners in 12 points behind the first serve in the second set, firing a forehand winner in the 12th point to wrap up a perfect display. It was an impressive display of power and accuracy from the home player. He landed 24 winners in 27 points after landing the first serve in and kept the momentum on his side.
