Marion Bartoli, born in 1984, was the promoter of the 2013 Wimbledon Tournament. In her career she has won a total of 8 WTA titles in singles and 3 in doubles and reached the No. 7 position in the world rankings in January 2012.
She has never taken part in any edition of the Olympic Games and took part in very few challenges in the Fed Cup, also due to his father's bad relations with the French Federation. She announced her retirement due to chronic physical problems in August 2013 at the age of 29, less than two months after winning her only Grand Slam tournament.
Over the years she has been the center of attention for her very unorthodox style of play with a very particular and cumbersome service movement and the two-handed grip on both baseline shots which have however allowed her to obtain excellent results.
Since August 2013, once her retirement was announced, Marion has dedicated herself to a life of long hours in the gym and a healthier diet, reshaping her body and managing to lose about 30 kilos in three years.
In July 2016 she admitted that she had lost too much weight due to an eating disorder and that she had begun to undergo treatment in a specialized facility. After a few weeks she reappeared in public exhibiting a normal physique; in the autumn of the same year you ran the New York marathon.
In November 2019, she married Belgian footballer Yahya Boumediene, with whom she has a daughter.
