Coco Gauff doesn't argue: "Noise doesn't distract me on the court"

Coco Gauff has ambitions of taking the title at the BNP Paribas Open, even though hard-court isn't her favorite surface. The very young US athlete won the second round of the competition, beating the Spanish Bucsa with a score of 6-2, 6-4.

The American then clarified on a specific question asked at the press conference. She said: "I'm quite comfortable. I'm not one to complain about noise unless it's something very loud. When I was little, I played tennis in a park right next to a baseball field, with cheerleaders and basketball.

My dad told me I couldn't complain, so I never do." She also said: "It was a good match for me, especially with the much slower conditions at night. She's not an easy player, it can complicate you. I saw her a lot the night before and she's a great tennis player, she comes up with unexpected shots I think it will continue to improve in the future."

Gauff spoke highly of the condition on the courts: "Many people say that at night it is like playing on clay.

During the day it is much easier for me to serve and bet on my shots. I knew playing against Cristina tonight would be a little more complicated. It might be different in my next game. I like night matches but it's a bit cold here, so I don't know if I like it that much." On the preparation of the matches she said: "I try not to do it in an exaggerated way.

I don't want to get too involved, because in the end when you go out on the pitch you have to feel your game. There were things I had seen of her that in the end I'm not happened, as I thought. I usually just watch the highlights or half of a game."
