Frenchman Benoit Paire has made an interesting change in his schedule as per his latest Instagram post. Paire has said that he will play the ATP event in Pune instead of the ATP event in Montpellier, France with both events taking place during the same week in February.
Both tournaments are scheduled for the week of February 2 to February 9, 2020. Paire had earlier said he would play the Montpellier event in his home country but now says he will play in Pune. The 30-year-old Paire is ranked No.
24 in the latest ATP rankings. He has played the Montpellier event on seven occasions, including the last five years in a row and has a 11-7 record in the event. His best performance there was reaching the finals in 2013 and the semi-finals in 2017 - losing to countryman Richard Gasquet on both occasions.
He has also played in the Tata Open in India on seven occasions - including the last four years in row. He played the event when it was held in Chennai on five occasions and in Pune the last two years, with a 14-7 record in India, including reachiing the semi-finals on four occasions.
With the introduction of the ATP Cup in January, the ATP event in India has been moved from its traiditonal slot in the opening week of the season calendar to the week of February 2nd to February 9th.
