Connors has been engaged to Chris Evert, with whom he has also played mixed doubles tournaments. The two were supposed to get married on November 8, 1974, but the marriage was postponed and then annulled, and the two gave the news of the end of their relationship in 1975, just before the Wimbledon tournament.
