Steffi Graf is considered by many to be the best tennis player and one of the best athletes in history.
She has won 22 Grand Slam titles, one Olympic gold and one silver and five WTA Finals. Complete, quick, powerful and fast athlete, her strongest stroke was the famous forehand, which allowed her to be number one in the world rankings for 377 weeks overall, a record for women's tennis.
She is, together with Serena Williams, among the only athletes in the world to have won, in singles, the four Grand Slam tournaments, the gold medal at the Summer Olympic Games, the WTA Championships, the Fed Cup and the Hopman Cup.
In 1988 she became the third tennis player in history to win the Grand Slam in singles, i.e. the victory of all the major tournaments in the same calendar year, and to this result she adds, unique in the history of this sport (men included), the Olympic gold in same year. The expression Golden Slam was specially coined for this feat she accomplished.
When Steffi was under her father's regime, she didn't have many opportunities to meet people and form solid friendships. Since 1995, the year her father was implicated and jailed for tax evasion on her daughter's earnings, Steffi has engaged in social relationships like she never had in her entire life.
She met her colleague Andre Agassi, with whom she started a relationship. The two got married on October 22, 2001 and four days later Steffi gave birth to their first child who was given the name Jaden Gil. The two had a second daughter on October 3, 2003, who was named Jaz Elle.
