Goran Ivanisevic is Novak Djokovic's coach

Remembered for his restless character and for his serve, shot in which he was the best on the circuit in six seasons (1992, 1994, 1996, 1997, 1998, 2001) reaching his peak in 1996 with 1477 aces, he was the first tennis player ever to cross the 10,000 ace mark. In his career he reached his best position as world number 2, behind only Pete Sampras, in 1994. He won 22 singles tournaments losing another 27 times in the final.

Naturally left-footed, thanks to his very powerful serve he was one of the best players on grass, with four finals in the most prestigious tournament in the world, that of Wimbledon. In 2001, having slipped past the 120th position in the ranking due to shoulder tendon problems, he became the first tennis player to win the London trophy thanks to a wild card. At the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games he won bronze in both singles and doubles, together with Goran Prpic. In 2020 he was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame.

His victory at the 2001 Wimbledon tournament inspired the film Wimbledon.
