Paolo Bertolucci

Paolo Bertolucci, former Italian tennis player and television commentator, won six titles on the ATP Tour in singles, out of 12 finals played, thanks to which he ranks fifth overall in the ranking of ATP victories obtained by Italian tennis players in the Open era. With the 12th place in August 1973 he boasts the sixth best ATP ranking achieved by an Italian tennis player since the introduction of the computerized calculation system. In Grand Slam trials he reached the quarterfinals at Roland Garros in 1973.

He is the only Italian player to have won three clay court tournaments in the same season.

He was a member of the strongest Italian Davis Cup team of all time, contributing to winning the trophy in 1976 and reaching the final on three other occasions (1977, 1979 and 1980).

In doubles he was one of the greatest talents ever expressed in Italian tennis, winning 12 titles, all paired with Adriano Panatta, out of 19 finals played, among which the triumph at the 1980 Monte Carlo tournament stands out, the only success achieved by an Italian couple in the Principality in the Open era.
