Medevdev and Alcaraz ruled the ATP Finals Day 4: the highlights
by LORENZO CIOTTI
Carlos Alcaraz challenged Andrey Rublev on the Day 4 of the ATP Finals 2023, coming back to success after losing Monday's match against Alexander Zverev. The Spaniard achieved his first career success at the year-end Master, in the tournament that brings together the best eight players of the season.
A success that came a few days after the disappointing defeat against Zverev, and which gives the young world no.2 new hopes of qualifying for the semifinals. Alcaraz has so far avoided the risk of being eliminated even before taking the court for the third Round Robin match, beating Rublev in straight sets.
Carlitos had never faced the Russian and the speed of the Central Court of the Pala Alpitour in Turin could have favored the explosiveness of his rival's shots. However, Alcaraz quickly learned to handle the speed of the surface, underlining once again how quickly he assimilates skills.
The Spaniard, thanks to his 7-5, 6-2 success against Rublev, will have the chance to compete for access to the semi-finals in the match that will close the Red Group against Daniil Medvedev.
