The Monmouth University beats William & Mary to get the CAA semifinals!

The Monmouth University men's tennis team gets to the CAA semifinals, after an epic victory for 4-0 over No. 2 William & Mary, in its postseason run. The CAA Tournament Quarterfinal challenge was played at the McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center.

Monmouth, ranked no.7, will take on the winner of Elon vs. Delaware today, Saturday afternoon in the CAA Semifinals. First service is set for 3pm. Friday's action was moved indoors due to bad weather, but Monmouth didn't miss a beat as they quickly jumped into a 2-0 singles lead with back-to-back victories from Victor Castro and Niels Van Noord.

The Hawks made history with the win as the win marks the first time the No. 7 eliminated the no. 2 in the CAA Men's Tennis Championship.

About the Monmouth University

Monmouth University is a private university located in West Long Branch in the state of New Jersey. Founded in 1933 as Monmouth Junior College, it became a university in 1995.

It currently has approximately 6,500 students and over 73% of faculty members hold a PhD or Master's degree. The student-faculty ratio is 15:1. 44% of students live on campus. Monmouth's athletic teams are known as the Hawks. The Hawks compete as members of the Colonial Athletic Association. The school had competed as a Division I (NCAA) school in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference from 2013 to 2023.
