Tiger Woods joins the PGA Tour policy board as the sixth "player director". The Californian champion joins his colleagues Patrick Cantlay, Charley Hoffman, Peter Malnati, Rory McIlroy and Webb Simpson. But the move by the top American men's circuit came after a request from 41 professional golfers who, through a letter sent to commissioner Jay Monahan, asked for a greater say especially after the story relating to the alliance between the Pga Tour and Liv Golf .

Thus, Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy and Jon Rahm, respectively number 1, 2 and 3 in the world, have called not only for the appointment of Woods to the policy board but also for an immediate overhaul of the governance structure of the PGA Tour.

"I am honored to be able to represent the players of the PGA Tour", the satisfaction of Tiger Woods, icon of the green. Eldrick Tont Woods (born December 30, 1975), better known as Tiger Woods, is an American golfer. Considered among the best golfers of all time, as well as the best of the modern era, in his more than twenty-year career he won 110 professional tournaments, including 15 majors, making him the most successful player in history ; held the top position in the OWG world rankings for a total of 683 weeks, 281 of which were consecutive weeks (from June 12, 2005 to October 30, 2010), and is the only golfer to have won all four majors in the modern era within a single year (between 2000 and 2001).

In 2014, he became the first sportsman in the world to surpass one billion dollars in earnings from wins and sponsorships.[5] He was later surpassed by Michael Jordan and his net worth is estimated at $1.8 billion as of 2023, making him the second highest paid sportsman ever.

In 2019, US President Donald Trump awarded him the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honor in the United States of America. Eldrick Tront Woods was born to an African American father, Earl and a Thai mother, Kultida.

Nicknamed "Tiger" by his father [8], he started playing golf practically from the time he could walk and was soon considered something of a child prodigy of the specialty. In 1990, at the age of fifteen, he was the youngest golfer to win the National Junior Championships, a success he also repeated in the following two years.

After winning three consecutive US amateur circuit titles (1994, 1995 and 1996), he turned pro, winning two circuit tournaments in his first year.
