Tenerife Ladies Open: New milestones for Ann Li, Maria Camila Osorio Serrano
For both players, this was the second WTA final.
Osorio Serrano had won the first title of her career at the Copa Colsanitas in Bogota, in her native, Colombia. In February, Li had reached the final of the Grampians Trophy, a warm-up event for the Australian Open. That final, which was to be played between Li and Anett Kontaveit, was cancelled on account of paucity of time.
Meanwhile, following their results this week at the Tenerife Ladies Open, both Ann Li and Maria Camila Osorio Serrano have reached new career-highs in the WTA ranking. Li gained 12 spots and is now ranked 48th in the world.
