6 Svitolina in her Tenerife opener last week. Osorio, who was the big underdog against Svitolina, recovered from a set down to stun the Ukrainian 5-7 6-3 6-2. "It was the most important match of my career. It gave me confidence that I can play and compete against the best," Osorio told radio program 6AM.
Osorio, who started the year ranked at No. 186 in the world, is now enjoying a career-high ranking of No. 53 in the world. "When you play professionally, you know that you need to be 100 percent," said Osorio. "The mental part is fundamental and that's what I had to concentrate on the most."

Osorio has experienced a big jump on the rankings list this season and she wants to continue climbing up on the list. "My goal is not to be Top 10, my dream is to be No. 1," she said. "If I want to be the best I have to improve physically, mentally, my shots—everything I can." Osorio, who was hampered by an abdominal injury from the Tenerife quarterfinal, ended runner-up at the event.
"In the quarterfinals it began to bother me. By the final it was affecting me a lot," she said. Meanwhile, Svitolina fired her longtime coach Andrew Bettles following a shock loss to Osorio. "After 5 years and 12 titles together!!
