On the hard-courts of the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center (Flushing Meadows, New York), the matches of the highly anticipated US Open 2021 are being played, the last Grand Slam of the season, during which there will be the absences of Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Serena Williams.
In the 2nd round of the women's singles, world no.1 Ashleigh Barty qualified for the 3rd round of her Flushing Meadows Sam thanks to her victory in straight sets over Clara Tauson. The Australian seed no.1 won the challenge with the final score of 6-1 7-5, showing some slight problems only in the second set.
In the other matches, wins came for Novak Djokovic, Matteo Berrettini, Denis Shapovalov, Alexander Zverev, Karolina Pliskova, Belinda Bencic, Iga Swiatek and Angelique Kerber. Below you can watch the highlights of the 2nd round match between Barty and Tauson.
