I followed the US Open, the period coincided with the days I spent at "hospital. I watched many matches. I very much appreciated that Garbine Muguruza dedicated her victory to me in the first round. She is a good friend, and between us there has always been a lot of respect and esteem.

I have also followed Roland Garros and the London Masters. The Tokyo Olympics in 2021? I would like to say goodbye to tennis on a court. It's a dream, right? However, now I have to consider the situation day after day, week after week.

I try to catch up. I have a secure ranking, but n I will not be able to play before. We'll see. This makes me understand that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. From this experience, I wish to convey a message of courage and encouragement.

In a few months this will remain a bad memory. We have to fight, always. It can be healed and life is long. The path is difficult but with a positive attitude we can do it. "

Carla Suarez Navarro's career

Over the course of her career, Carla Suarez Navarro has played eleven WTA finals, winning only two, including the Qatar Total Open 2016.

Among others, however, she boasts a final played at the Miami Open 2015. As for the tournaments of the Grand Slam, she reached the quarterfinals seven times: three at the Australian Open in 2009, 2016 and 2018; two at the French Open in 2008 and 2014 and two at the US Open in 2013 and 2018.
