At the WTA International tournament in Tokyo ($226,750, hard) Belgian Yanina Wickmayer triumphed after a great tournament, claiming victory in the final against the event's surprise Magda Linette in three sets, 4-6 6-3 6-3, after two hours and 11 minutes.
This was the Lier-native's fourth career title and the first since 2010 when she won the WTA Auckland title against Flavia Pennetta. On Monday, Wickmayer will recover 30 positions in the WTA rankings, up to number 56. WTA TOKYO - FINAL Y.
