Taylor Townsend Looking for Doubles Partner for Australian Open

American tennis player Taylor Townsend is looking for a doubles partner at the Australian Open and sent out a message on her Twitter account for the same. The 23-year-old Townsend is ranked No. 82 in singles and No. 89 in doubles currently.

Townsend caused one of the biggest upsets of the year when she upset Romania's Simona Halep in the first round of the US Open in New York in September this year using an attacking style of serve-n-volley. She went on to reach the fourth round of the US Open in singles, her best performance in singles at the Slams so far.

Townsend has done well in doubles as well in the past. She reached the quarter-finals of the US Open doubles event in 2016 with American Asia Muhammad and earlier this year, she reached the third round of the Australian Open doubles event in 2019 with Aliaksandra Sasnovich and the final of the ASB Classic in Auckland with Paige Houringtan.

She also had an outstanding career in doubles as a junior - winning the Australian Open, Wimbledon and US Open doubles titles in 2012 - making it only the seventh time that a player or a team was able to win three out of four Grand Slam doubles titles in the juniors.

She has won 1 WTA $125K Challenger event and 17 ITF doubles titles on the circuit so far in her career - two of those coming this year. Let's hope the American finds a suitable doubles partner for the Australian Open.
