Tennis: American qualifier Lauren Davis, Czech qualifier Tereza Martincova, French teenager Oceane Dodin and America's Julia Boserup reached the semifinals of the Coupe Banque Nationale WTA Tournament in Quebec City, Canada.
Davis faced Russia's Alla Kudryavtseva, who had knocked out the top seed Eugenie Bouchard in the second round. Davis had won all three previous meetings against the Russian, including the last one in Mexico this year. Davis broke Kudryavtseva twice in the first set and won it 6-3 but the Russian fought better in the second set, which was decided by tie-break.
Davis won it 7-4 to reach the semifinals, where she will face another qualifier Tereza Martincova, who won by same scoreline 6-3, 7-6(7) against America's Jessica Pegula. 19-year-old French girl Oceane Dodin reached her first WTA semifinals as she defeated Belgium's Alison Van Uytvanck in straight sets 6-2, 6-4.
Dodin will face USA's Julia Boserup for a place in the final, who defeated her compatriot Catherina Bellis 7-6(0). 6-4. FULL RESULTS ON NEXT PAGE Also Read: WTA QUEBEC CITY- Eugenie Bouchard stunned in the second round by Kudryavtseva
