Oceane Dodin was very disappointed after her loss to Simona Halep in the second round at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells. The French player, who had entered the main draw being a lucky loser, lost 3-6 6-3 7-5 and at the end of the match, she expressed her frustration.
'I wasn't going through a good moment and I needed to earn confidence again and play a good match and win. Luckily it didn't happen and so I am very disappointed', Dodin admitted. 'I played a very good first set, I was doing well physically, but in the second set less well.
In the third I was up 4-2 30-0, but I did at least 20 double faults (16) throughout the match and I needed the serve to win. I would have preferred to lose 6-0 6-0 rather than this way because it sucks to lead 4-2 and not being able to win. I slammed my mobile phone into the wall.
I will luckily continue because I had told my father that I wanted to stop playing tennis (laughter). I told him to cancel myself from all the tournaments. And he replies, You are completely crazy, you have to visit a psychologist.
You lost 7-5 in the third set against the world No. 1 and you want to stop with tennis.' ALSO READ: Carreno Busta: 'When Federer and Nadal retire, I will take advantage of it'
