Following the elimination from the tournament on the clay of Buenos Aires against the Chilean tennis player Nicolas Jarry, a disappointed Carlos Alcaraz commented on his disappointing run of form, which led him to two eliminations, first in the quarter-finals of the Australian Open, then in the semi-final in Buenos Aires.
"There are great expectations on me and in the tournaments I go to, people think that I have to win every match and in the end this is tennis, there are many players who have a high level. I have to improve, I have to make better use of certain moments, on break points for example.
The positive thing is that I have many things to improve. I need to be able to read the matches better. For me the issue of concentration is fundamental. My level of play is based on concentration, in these matches I had several highs and lows that I can't afford," explained Carlitos.

But there's little to go around: the young Spaniard is facing the first real crisis of his career. Yes, we are talking about a 20-year-old who has already won 12 ATP titles, including two Slams, who has already been ATP No.1.
However, it is precisely these numbers which, in a moment like the one the tennis player from Murcia is going through, amplify the absence of titles from Wimbledon 2023.
A data shows Carlitos' crisis
In fact, Alcaraz hasn't been able to win a trophy for seven months, when he won the historic final of the Championships against Novak Djokovic. The last final played dates back to August 20, when he surrendered against the Serbian champion at the Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati.
From that moment on, the Spanish champion played 7 tournaments, failing to get beyond the semi-final. US Open, Beijing, Shanghai, Paris Bercy, ATP Finals in 2023 and, in 2024, Australian Open and lastly the ATP 250 in Buenos Aires, a tournament in which he presented himself as defending champion, in which he was eliminated by Nicolas Jarry in semi-final with a score of 7-6 (2) 6-3.
A rather worrying negative streak for the Spaniard, who will be back on the field for the 500 in Rio de Janeiro from next week.
Enhorabuena a Nico por el partido y suerte en la final! 🤝🏻 Gracias 🇦🇷 por el cariño de esta semana! 👋🏻🔜🇧🇷
