Paula Badosa lived with physical back problems during 2023, and she's officially stopped from the second round of Wimbledon, in which she was forced to a witdrawal against Marta Kostyuk. Badosa is currently engaged in a tournament in Abu Dhabi, the World Tennis League, in the Kites Team, together with her friend Aryna Sabalenka, the Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov and the current boyfriend Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Paula will then play at the Australian Open, in which she doesn't defend points, due to the withdrawal in the 2023 edition. The Spanish tennis player told Gulf News the conditions in which she currently lives and the goals set for next year. "It was very hard months for me, but slowly I feel better.

The most important thing is that I finally have fun again on a tennis court, which I could not do a month ago. I feel good and I really want to start the season now," She said.

Paula is seeking her best level

Badosa continued by underlining the need to play several matches to return to her best level.

"I was far from the Tour for a long time, so I need to play as many games as possible, spend a lot of time on the field to recover automatism and competitive rhythm. I know I have to go slowly, start slowly and with low expectations.

My ranking has come down a lot, but it was because of an injury, something that I cannot control. Now my great goal is to be healthy. Being able to compete for a whole year without serious injuries would be key and it is what would allow me to fight with guarantees to return to being one of the best in the world.

At this moment I feel at 80% of my physical possibilities," explained the beautiful Spanish champion. Badosa is one of the WTA player who will come back to play in 2024, along with Naomi Osaka, Emma Raducanu and Angelique Kerber.
