Hong Seong Chan and Anna Blinkova will leave Chengdu as the most prominent players as they are 2016 ITF Junior Masters champions. Korean Hong Seong Chan is having a dream season so far, winning 3 Futures titles and losing only one match.
To tell the truth, Hong is not junior anymore, but he get the invitation for this Masters thanks to his result from 2015 (Australian Open finalist). In the final he defeated another big talent, Casper Ruud from Norway, by 7-5 6-3.
The first set was very tight, and Ruud served for a tie break in the game 12. Hong broke him to take the set 7-5, showing his amazing defensive skills once again. The players exchanged the early breaks in the second set, before Hong broke once again in game 8, to finish the match on own serve.
After the match, Hong Seong Chan has said that he wants to work hard to achieve his goals and break into Top 5, pretty much the same as his idol Kei Nishikori. Final boys standings: 1. Hong Seong Chan
