Iga Swiatek, 22, hits absolutely wild stat in epic Wimbledon win over Belinda Bencic
by DZEVAD MESIC
Iga Swiatek, 22, played her first-ever match that featured two tie-breaks against Belinda Bencic at Wimbledon, it was revealed during the BBC commentary. Swiatek, seeded at No 1, saved two match points en route to beating Bencic 6-7 (4) 7-6 (2) 6-3 in the Wimbledon round-of-16.
Swiatek, who has established herself as the best player in the women's game for quite some time, has gotten well-known for her ruthless way of crushing opponents. Usually, there is no much drama in Swiatek's matches. But Bencic made Swiatek work extremely hard and the Pole had just her first match that featured two tie-breaks.
Per Sam Smith in the #Wimbledon commentary booth, this is the first time *ever* in her entire professional career that Iga Swiatek has played two tiebreaks in a single match.

Swiatek survived the Bencic challenge
In the first set, Swiatek missed out on multiple chances and ultimately paid the price by losing the opener.
After missing out on three consecutive break points in the second game, Swiatek also missed out on a break point in the fourth game. In the 10th game - when Bencic was serving to stay in the first set - Swiatek had two consecutive set points but didn't realize.
The set then went into a tie-break, where Bencic took a 4-0 lead before converting her fourth set point to steal the opener from Swiatek. After losing the first set, Swiatek broke Bencic in the first game of the second set but the Swiss broke back in the sixth game to tie the second set to three games apiece.
In the 12th game - when Swiatek was serving to stay in the match - Bencic had two consecutive match points but Swiatek stepped up and saved them to force a second tie-break. In the second-set tie-break, Bencic had a 2-1 lead before Swiatek won the next six points to win the set and send the match into a decider.
After winning a tight second set, Swiatek earned the first break of the third set in the fourth game to open a 3-1 lead. Swiatek then held on to her service for the remainder of the match to complete a three-set win.
