Ukrainian tennis player Dayana Yastremska revealed she was in great pain before the doctors found stones in her kidney. Kidney stones can be caused by several factors, including excess body weight, certain medications, and supplements.
In most cases, kidney stones occur past 30. Yastremska, who last competed last week, is just 22. "I was dying from the pain, and didn't know what is going on, in the end they found a stone in the kidney," Yastremska announced on her Instagram Story.

There, Yastremska suffered a 1-6 6-1 6-2 loss to Ana Konjuh in the first round. Yastremska made a lightning start to the match, claiming back-to-back breaks to open a 5-0 lead. In the sixth game, Konjuh managed to serve out her service game and to finally get on the board.
After getting on the board, Konjuh a break point in the seventh game, when Yastremska was serving for the first set. But Yastremska saved the break point and managed to serve out the game and to clinch the first set. After easily losing the first set, Konjuh bounced back at the start of the second set as she claimed an early break and opened a 3-0 lead.
In the sixth game, Konjuh collected her second break to take a comfortable 5-1 lead in the second set. Up by two breaks, Konjuh routinely served out for the second set in the seventh game. After dominating the second set, Konjuh claimed the first break of the third set in the third game to open a 2-1 lead.
In the seventh game, Konjuh broke Yastremska again and took a very comfortable 5-2 lead in the decider. Serving for the match in the eighth game, Konjuh realized her second match point to complete a big comeback victory over Yastremska.
Now that Yastremska was diagnosed with stones in her kidney, she likely won't play until 2023. Yastremska is currently ranked just inside the top-100, on the 98th position.
