Dayana Yastremska shares horror her sister endured during missile attacks on Odesa

Ukrainian tennis player Dayana Yastremska shared some terrifying content on her Instagram Story, revealing how her sister Ivanka and her dog hid in the bathroom during missile and drone attacks on Odesa. Throughout Tuesday night, Russia launched missile and drone attacks on Odessa.

For the second night in a row, Odessa was targeted by the Russian forces. In one Instagram Story, Yastremska shared an audio message recorded by her sister. In the audio message, Ivanna sounded extremely petrified as the loud bangs and explosions of missiles and drones could be heard in the background.

"She has to sleep in the bathroom because of this f------ (Russian flag)," Yastremska captioned her Instagram Story.

Yastremska sends a message to the WTA, ITF

Yastremska is currently in Palermo, where she won her first-round match on Tuesday. But instead of sleeping and getting rested on Tuesday night, Yastremska spent her night awake to be with her sister.

After a terrifying Tuesday night, Yastremska seemingly had a message for the WTA and ITF. "Just check my stories, or maybe you would like live videos, or visit Ukraine? So you can change your opinion about (Russian flag). Someone sleeps well now, you know who I mean, and someone is trying to survive.

Or all Ukrainian players are during the tournaments are awake because they are following all the news. Is that fair?" Yastremska wrote on her Instagram Story. On Tuesday, Yastremska kicked off her Palermo campaign with a 6-4 6-2 win over Mia Ristic.

In her next Palermo match, Yastremska is set to meet Jasmine Paolini. Yastremska and Paolini know each other very well as they are set to meet for the seventh time - all of their six meetings have come since 2021. Going into the match, Paolini owns a 5-1 head-to-head against Yastremska. It remains to be seen if Yastremska will be affected by what happened on Tuesday night.
