Dayana Yastremska tells how WTA reacted when she reported Mirra Andreeva IG activity

Ukraine's Dayana Yastremska claims she noticed Mirra Andreeva liking pro-Russia posts on Instagram but the WTA did nothing when she reported the 16-year-old Russian's social media activity. In late July, Yastremska and Andreeva met in Lausanne and the Russian claimed a 6-0 6-2 win over the Ukrainian in the first round.
Before the match, Yastremska apparently noticed that Andreeva was liking posts on Instagram that were showing support for Russian President Vladimir Putin. Yastremska reported her findings to the WTA, who apparently told her there was nothing they could do.
"I went to the WTA in Switzerland and told about it. I have not received any reason for their decision. They said 'there's nothing we can do.' I told them it wasn't fair. Before our match in Lausanne, I went on Instagram to look at some photos and saw that Mirra liked that posts.
This was not a surprise, because most Russian tennis players do the same. They publicly assert their neutrality, but in fact, the opposite is true," Yastremska told Polish tennis journalist Dominik Senkowski.

Yastremska: Not the first time we reported something like this
During a conversation with Senkowski, Yastremska also claimed that Ukrainian players have several times reported the activity of Russian players on social media - but it never resulted in a sanction for a Russian player.
"I was surprised by the decision of WTA, but on the other hand, it's not the first time Ukrainian players showed WTA, what is happening. We have repeatedly reported similar behavior of players from Russia on social media.
We suggested penalties for them, but nothing changes. I haven't discussed this with Mirra. We don't talk to each other on tour. Most Russian women ignore us, don't even say 'Hello.' But it doesn't matter to me, I don't even want to talk to them," Yastremska added.
