Meanwhile, Parrizas Diaz’s fellow Spaniard, Sorribes Tormo needed 91 minutes to wrap up a 6-2, 6-3 win over the seventh seed Anna Bondar. Tormo saved two of the three break points she faced while converting four of the eight break points on the Hungarian’s serve.
The last semi-finalist at the Palermo Ladies Open, Romania’s Begu posted a 6-1, 6-3 win over France’s Diane Parry. Begu needed an hour and 45 minutes to complete the win.
