Petra Kvitova says it was "so satisfying" to win the 2014 Wimbledon title, three years after upsetting Maria Sharapova in the final at The Championships to win a Grand Slam. In 2011, Kvitova stunned Sharapova 6-3 6-4 in the Wimbledon final to lift her first Grand Slam crown.
That year, Kvitova wasn't really considered among the top favorites for the title at Wimbledon. But in 2014 - when Kvitova beat Eugenie Bouchard to win her second Wimbledon title - there were expectations and pressure on the Czech to deliver at The Championships.
In an interview with FlashScore, Kvitova was asked which Wimbledon victory she remembered more fondly.

"I prefer the 2014 one, but I couldn't do without 2011.
I was still such an unknown then, nobody expected it, I surprised everybody even though I was ranked eighth in the world. But in 2014, I entered every match as a favorite and it was mentally extremely tough. I ran into three Czechs during the tournament, that's always a special match.
For me, the title was so satisfying, that I made it through. I proved that the first title was not a coincidence. For me, the second Grand Slam was extra special and I will never forget it," Kvitova told FlashScore. Kvitova, who is now 33 years old, captured both of her Grand Slam titles at Wimbledon.
But going into this year's Wimbledon, Kvitova is keeping her expectations low. "I don't have any, I'm going to play my best and hope my health holds out. Last year I finished in the third round, when the first rounds are always the hardest.
I just want to be there as long as possible, it's my favorite tournament, so I'm going to enjoy it," Kvitova revealed. Kvitova won Berlin last week before withdrawing from this week's Eastbourne due to fatigue.
